The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Sopchoppy river near Sopchoppy (fr 343).
* From Saturday morning until further notice... or until the warning
is cancelled.
* At 7:00 am Friday the stage was 20.2 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 28.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by tomorrow late morning and
continue to rise to near 29.4 feet by tomorrow afternoon.
Additional rises are possible thereafter.
* Impact... at 28.0 feet... low lying roads north of Sopchoppy become
cutoff.

The Flood Warning continues for the St. Marks river near
Newport on old Magnolia Rd.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 9:00 PM Thursday the stage was 7.8 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage early Friday morning and
continue to rise to near 10.0 feet by Tuesday morning.
* Impact... at 9.0 feet... Natural Bridge Road will flood.
At 11.0 feet... major flooding will occur in the area.

... Coastal Flood Watch in effect from 11 am EDT this morning
through this evening...

The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a coastal
Flood Watch... which is in effect from 11 am EDT this morning
through this evening.

* Coastal flooding... highest tide of 4.5 to 6 feet... reference
North American vertical datum 1988.

* Timing... coinciding with astronomical high tide between 3 and 6 PM
EDT.

* Impacts... if tides only reach 5 feet there could be some
flooding of low lying roads near the coast. If tides reach 6
feet there could be some inundation of structures and more
flooded roads. This could necessitate the evacuation of some
people and property to higher ground.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal Flood Watch means that conditions favorable for
flooding are expected to develop. Coastal residents should be
alert for later statements or warnings... and take action to
protect property.

are already near or at flood stage. Flash flooding is also
possible... mainly in urban areas... and near
creeks... streams... and drainage areas prone to fast rising water
during heavy rain.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood or flash flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to
flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding
develop. Please do not driver through flood areas.
